Netflix enthusiasts are urged not to miss a riveting new survival thriller set to debut on the streaming platform next month.
Headlined by two major Hollywood stars, the initial glimpse of this gritty and violent horror film has left viewers unanimously praising the exceptional cast.
Apex showcases Charlize Theron as Sasha, an adventurous rock climber undertaking a perilous solo expedition across the Australian outback.
When she encounters a deranged local hunter (portrayed by Taron Egerton), she’s compelled to endure the harsh elements and maintain her composure to survive.
The new film was directed by Baltasar Kormákur, known for Idris Elba’s equally suspenseful thriller Beast as well as directing an episode of the hit BBC historical drama King and Conqueror.
Viewers are already singing praises for the upcoming release after catching a sneak peek of Apex’s unbearable tension and heart-stopping action in the new trailer.
“Taron Egerton is really a phenomenal actor,” one YouTuber remarked, while another added: “The way I sign in the second I see Charlize Theron in anything.”
Another viewer noted: “Charlize doesn’t hold back with the action and works hard. You know that’s actually her in the kayak. And Taron chasing her. Looks like it’s worth a watch.”
“You had me at Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton. I will be seated for this one,” another fan said.
“He nailed the psychopath vibe, this character is scary,” read another comment.
While a final fan predicted: “Charlize Theron doesn’t give off damsel in distress. Bro is in deep s***.”
Leading actress Theron is also producing the picture and is continuing her partnership with Netflix following the action films The Old Guard and its 2025 sequel, as well as the young adult fantasy film The School for Good and Evil.
Meanwhile, Egerton has also featured in streaming successes including Netflix’s 2024 thriller Carry-On with Jason Bateman. The Kingsman star has also most recently appeared in the Apple TV dramas Black Bird and Smoke.
Apex releases Friday, 24th April on Netflix.
