Ringo Starr’s epic new music video is full of Beatles Easter Eggs | Music | Entertainment

Sir Ringo Starr has teamed up once again with T Bone Burnett for his second Country solo album in a row.

Released this weekend, the titular track Long Long Road also comes with a brand new music video full of Beatles Easter eggs and never-before-seen photos.

The footage opens with the famous Yellow Submarine just below the Pacific Ocean, as Ringo drives a black Musset Ford convertible along the coastal highway.

Fans will spot that the 85-year-old is also wearing the same purple frilly shirt he sported back in the 1960s, showing just how well the drummer has looked after his health over the years.

As Ringo drives along, he time travels back to his childhood in Liverpool, cruising past his parents and younger self, before the action continues along the long long road of his epic life. We see The Beatles’ US tour and Ringo settling down with kids before his second marriage to Bond girl Barbara Bach and on-going solo career.

Reflecting on the track which features Sheryl Crow and Daniel Tashian’s vocals, Ringo shared: “We’re talking about this Long Long Road I’ve been on – and I’ve been thinking about the road I’ve taken. Starting in Liverpool, being in several bands, then with The Beatles – all those stops on your walk of life, it’s so far out. What would have happened if I’d emigrated to Texas to be near Lightnin’ Hopkins? We don’t know. I could have taken another path but I took this one and ended up here, still on this Long Long Road. I loved making this record with T Bone and I hope you enjoy listening to it.”

“I’ve loved Ringo’s playing and his singing for my whole life,” T Bone stated. “And I always heard Ringo as a Texas artist; the way he played felt just like Texas music to me. Ringo Starr is a master musician and a recording artist of the highest caliber, and I wanted to surround him with these young masters, bringing in some of this extraordinary young energy that’s happening around Nashville for both of these records.”

Long Long Road is out now.
