When you think of Easter gifting, chocolate eggs immediately spring to mind. But there’s a new type of egg quietly stealing the spotlight for beauty lovers. Beauty eggs are exactly what they sound like: seasonal egg-shaped gift packages bursting with beauty products, from makeup and skincare to fragrances and bath and body treats. Their popularity has been steadily growing, and this year brands like LookFantastic, Next and Bath and Bodyworks have all released their own take on the seasonal beauty box, especially for those who love all things makeup, skincare and self-care.

But with more and more options popping up — each promising a unique mix of products inside — it can be tricky to decide which one to go for. The good news is that most include a decent variety, though some lean more towards a specific niche such as makeup or skincare. With so many to choose from, whether you’re treating yourself or buying for a beauty lover in your life, it’s not always obvious which ones are really worth the money.

If you do have your eye on one of these eggs this year, it’s worth shopping sooner rather than later, as the Easter weekend isn’t far away. Plus, some eggs — like the LookFantastic one — have sold out quickly in previous years.

So I took on the very serious task of opening several beauty eggs available for Easter 2026 to see exactly what’s inside each one. I weighed them up based on how they look, whether they’d make a nice gift, if the packaging is reusable, what’s inside and how much the contents are worth compared with the retail price to see how they stack up for value.

The Next Luxury Beauty Easter Egg is back for another year, and this time around, it’s actually cheaper than it was last year. In 2025, the egg retailed for £50 and included names like OPI, Aromatherapy Associates and Laura Mercier. This year it’s priced at £35 and, according to Next, is packed with more than £126 worth of products based on the cost of buying each item individually.

Once again, the packaging is shaped like a classic Easter egg, decorated with a pretty pastel design of springtime flowers that feels very on theme for the season. The top lifts off like a lid to reveal the seven beauty products tucked inside. On packaging alone, it would make a lovely gift, and you wouldn’t necessarily even need to wrap it. The box itself is made from cardboard, so while it could be reused for storage, it’s not especially sturdy and probably isn’t designed to last forever.

What I particularly liked about this egg is how versatile the contents are. There’s skincare, makeup, nail care, body care, a fragrance and even something for your hair, so it really does cover you from head to toe.

Most of the items are fairly universal, too, meaning they’d suit a lot of people. One of the stand-out pieces for me is the Floral Street perfume in the scent Chypre Sublime. It’s a woody, floral fragrance, and the bottle is a handy 10ml travel size, which is perfect for popping in your handbag or packing in hand luggage for upcoming holidays. Next hasn’t revealed the exact value of this item, but our independent research shows Floral Street travel-size fragrances retail for roughly £29 on sites like LookFantastic. There’s also a Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, designed to help create a clearer, brighter complexion, again in a travel size that usually sells for around £19.

All of the other items in the egg are full-size. These include a Margaret Dabbs London Firming Leg Serum, a moisturiser designed to smooth and tighten the skin. On the makeup side, there’s an Iconic London lip oil and a makeup sponge from Spectrum Collections. I was actually quite pleased to see the sponge included, as I use these daily and regularly need to replace them, so it’s one of those little extras that ends up saving money.

There’s also an OPI nail varnish in the classic pale pink shade Bubble Bath, which is a versatile colour most people would get plenty of wear out of. The final product is a Beauty Works Miracle Spray that claims to protect hair against heat damage, making it ideal to spritz on before using hot styling tools.

If you have a makeup lover in your life, the P.Louise beauty egg is definitely one to consider. Overall, I’d say it probably leans more towards teenagers and younger women based on the aesthetic and scent, but if you enjoy things that are kitschy, cute and unapologetically feminine, you’ll likely appreciate it too. Out of all the eggs I opened, this one stood out the most for its high-quality, reusable packaging.

If you haven’t heard of P.Louise before, it’s a UK-based cosmetics brand founded by makeup artist Paige Louise that has become something of a viral sensation on TikTok and Instagram. The brand is known for its ultra-girly pink aesthetic and playful themed collections. In its first year of business alone, it reportedly broke records by making £1.5 million in just 12 hours during a TikTok Shop Live.

The Beauty Egg retails for £60, but the brand says the contents inside are worth £122, meaning shoppers get a saving of more than 50%.

It arrives in a pink box decorated with the words “you’re eggstra special” alongside a cute bunny design, which feels perfectly suited to Easter. Inside that box sits the egg itself — a hard pink case with a stitched golden bunny design on the front. The egg has two sturdy feet at the bottom so it stands upright, and it zips all the way around to reveal what’s inside. Straight away, it scores points as a gift because the packaging alone feels special enough that you could hand it over without wrapping it.

The egg doubles as an Easter-themed makeup case or can sit on a dressing table for storage, which is a nice eco-friendly touch since it’s something you can reuse long after the season has passed.

Inside, the products are arranged in both halves of the egg, nestled in pastel pink shredded paper. The outside packaging is already quite impressive, but I was genuinely impressed by how much thought had gone into the presentation inside as well. Everything matches and sticks to the same theme.

I’ll admit I initially worried everything inside would be overwhelmingly pink and overly girly, but I was pleasantly surprised that most of the items are reasonably versatile — though you do still need to be someone who enjoys makeup.

All of the products are full-size. There’s a 12-pan eye and face palette featuring a mix of pink and nude shades, with both matte and sparkly finishes. Some colours definitely lean towards a particular taste, especially the brighter pinks and glitters, but there are also plenty of wearable nudes and browns. There’s a lip duo containing a lip oil and lip balm, a black mascara (which is the kind of staple everyone needs in their makeup bag), a set of individual lashes, a peel-off lip stain that went viral online over the last year, and a hand cream. There’s also a body spray, and while I did like it, the scent is very sweet — it’s pink marshmallow after all — so it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea.

The egg comes in two themes: Pink Marshmallow (the one I opened), a sugary, sweet-inspired set, or Chocolate Covered Strawberries, a fruity, chocolate-inspired version.

Arguably one of the most popular beauty eggs each year is the LookFantastic Beauty Egg, and now, as the countdown to Easter begins, it’s back once again. This year’s version is actually worth more than last year’s while still retailing for the same price. In 2025, the egg had a value of £205, so there are a few extra high-value additions included this time around.

Last year’s egg sparked a wave of unboxing videos across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube and quickly sold out. So while it’s still available now, anyone with their heart set on it might want to think about snapping one up sooner rather than later.

For full transparency, I haven’t actually opened this egg myself. But given the rave reviews online and its popularity, it felt impossible not to include it. This year, it comes packaged as a golden egg and includes six full-size items plus one deluxe size (which, as far as we can tell, is basically a slightly fancier way of saying travel size).

Inside are products from big names and trending brands, including Medik8, Sol de Janeiro, Fenty Beauty and Color Wow. According to LookFantastic, the contents are worth “over £220”, but shoppers can pick them up for £60. That’s a saving of around £160, or almost 73%.

There’s a bit of everything in the box: skincare, haircare and makeup. The only thing really missing is something like a nail polish or fragrance, which some competitor beauty boxes — and even some of LookFantastic’s own sets — occasionally include.

The highest-value product in the egg is the full-size Rodial Collagen 30% Booster Drops, which retail for £80 when bought individually. There’s also a full-size Medik8 Hydr8 B5 Serum worth £45.

Another stand-out product is the Color Wow Dream Coat, worth £27. It’s a lightweight, heat-activated spray designed to block humidity and frizz, making it particularly handy when you’re travelling somewhere warm.

There are two makeup items included as well: the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Oil in a fairly versatile pinky-nude shade called Rose Amber, worth £22, and a full-size Benefit Badgal Bounce Fuller, Fluffier, Volumising Mascara, worth £27.

Also tucked inside is a 111Skin Cryo De-Puffing Eye Mask worth just over £10, alongside a travel-sized Sol de Janeiro Brazilian 4 Play Moisturising Shower Cream-Gel worth £10.

The Boots Easter Beauty Box is a lovely alternative if you want to gift something other than the typical chocolate egg. It’s ideal for the beauty fan in your life, or just as tempting as a little treat for yourself.

Given the price versus the value of the box, it represents a brilliant saving, and includes a mix of well-known names like Nuxe, Rituals, Sol de Janeiro and Kerastase, all brought together in one place.

I haven’t actually opened this box myself, but its popularity online really caught my attention. It’s been given a five-star rating by previous shoppers, and once I saw the range of products included, I could see exactly why it’s getting so much love.

Everything comes tucked inside a pretty pink box, decorated with spring-ready florals. It basically does all the work for you so, if you did plan on giving it as an Easter gift, you don’t need to faff about with wrapping paper.

Open it up, and there’s a generous selection spanning makeup, skincare and hair care, with a good balance of full-size products and smaller treats. The shades feel wearable and versatile, the kind of picks you’d reach for every day rather than save for a special occasion. Alongside those, there are some standout staples that work across face, body and hair, giving the whole edit a really well-rounded feel.

The travel-sized additions are just as appealing. They’re perfect for trying something new or slipping into your bag for a weekend away. The Sol de Janeiro body lotion is a stand-out product for me, as it’s one I already use and love. The warm, summery scent instantly makes me think of summer days.

It’s also nice to see some attention given to hair care, with a product included to smooth and condition. Not every beauty box goes beyond makeup and skincare, so it adds a welcome bit of variety.

If there’s one thing missing, it might be a fragrance, but that’s fairly typical, as scents aren’t always included in these kinds of boxes.

So far, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. One shopper called it “fabulous”, while another wrote: “I cannot recommend this box of goodies highly enough, every single thing is the right colour and totally right for skin. Worth every penny.”

While Rituals released an Easter egg last year, this time around, their seasonal offering feels a little more understated. That said, it hasn’t completely lost its charm — the box is still decorated with a sweet little white rabbit, finished with a soft blue bow. It’s subtle and pretty, even if it doesn’t quite have the same playful, eye-catching feel as last year’s version.

It makes a great gift if you’re looking to move away from the usual chocolate or sugary treats, especially for someone who might appreciate a bit of downtime instead. It leans more towards a relaxing, pampering experience, which makes it a nice alternative to sets that are packed full of makeup.

Everything inside is centred around the Ritual of Karma scent, infused with white tea and lotus, which immediately sets a calm, spa-like tone. There are three bath-time products to work through, each one adding to that slow, indulgent routine. The shimmering body oil is one of the standouts — it absorbs quickly into the skin while leaving behind a soft, light-catching glow that feels just a little bit special.

Alongside that, there’s a 50ml foaming shower gel and a 70ml body cream, making it easy to layer the scent and turn a simple shower into something more of a ritual. It’s the kind of set you can dip into at the end of a long day when you want to properly unwind.

This year, Next is also selling a spring-scented beauty Easter Egg filled with products from Bath and Bodyworks. If you’re not familiar with the brand, Bath and Bodyworks is a North American favourite that used to be tricky to get hold of in the UK unless you travelled abroad. Now it’s part of the Next family, meaning you can order its scented bath, body and home products directly from the Next website.

The Easter Egg costs £35, but according to Next, the products inside would cost £75 if purchased individually. That works out as a saving of around 53%.

Much like the Next Luxury Beauty Egg, the packaging is shaped like a traditional Easter egg in a pastel blue colour and with a classic seasonal design. It’s also decorated with the phrase “Hop to It”, which feels very fitting for the time of year. It’s pretty enough that you could easily gift it as it is without wrapping.

Inside, there are four full-size products, and everything matches the box’s design. All of the items come in the scent Gingham, which is a light, fresh fragrance that isn’t overpowering, making it fairly versatile and perfect for spring.

The set includes a Fine Fragrance Mist, a body cream and a body wash — all useful everyday products. But my favourite item might actually be the Wallflower fragrance. It’s essentially a plug-in air freshener that diffuses fragrance into the room using scented oil refills. Once the first refill runs out, you can simply swap it for any of Bath and Bodyworks’ other scents — and there are plenty to choose from. I was genuinely surprised by how well it worked, and it’s definitely made a noticeable difference in my lounge.

Out of all the beauty eggs, this one probably makes the best choice for someone who deserves a bit of pampering but isn’t necessarily a hardcore makeup or beauty enthusiast.
